So how can you properly clean your iPod before selling it? Here are 5 easy to follows tip to clean it properly:
- First, unplug all cables and cords and set the Hold switch to Hold. You don’t need to power it off to clean it!
- Second, use a soft, damp, lint-free cloth. Avoid getting moisture in openings.
- If you cannot clean your iPod with steps 1 & 2 you’ll have to use a cleaning agent. To be on the safe side – apply the agent conservatively to your cloth rather than directly onto the iPod.
- Use a a moist Q-tip to clean out the crevices.
- If all else fails – it would be safer to take a part your iPod and then clean the hard to get places rather than cleaning it assembled (you run the risk of shorting the circuitry!)
Whatever you do – NEVER use aerosol sprays, solvents, alcohol, or abrasives to clean iPod.

Technology seems to have developed at a lightning fast speed. New gadgets and tools are coming out every day it seems. In fact, it’s quite the common experience that people get somewhat frustrated when trying to figure the whole electronic market out. There’s just so many different products and so many different versions and models of the same product that it can be too overwhelming. Still, for some, that’s the beauty of the whole electronics sphere. You can get the latest and greatest phones, music players, DVD players, etc. in a matter of months. New developments, upgrades and tweaks are being made constantly.
Technophiles are constantly on the lookout for the newest tools. They line up in ridiculously long queues all night long just to be able to get the chance to be one of the first ones to get their hands on the newest iPhone for instance. They read up on the internet and in tech magazines to find out when the latest release will be launched. They actually write about it in their blogs. They chatter about it on Twitter and at the water cooler. And when the time comes, they will gleefully throw out their old iPods and iPhones and other once cool gadgets and line up for the next big thing.
So what happens to all those tossed electronics? For the most part, people do simply get rid of them, putting them out with the household trash. A gadget that doesn’t function as it once did, or a gadget that is damaged in some way, a cracked screen perhaps, or a battery that doesn’t take a charge is quite easy to throw away. We don’t invest so much in these types of things because we know the next new thing will be just right around the corner.
However, this sort of expendable mindset does create problems. Namely, all this tossing out of electronic items isn’t very Earth friendly. Junk has to go somewhere, and that’s usually a landfill. Obviously, electronics aren’t very biodegradable. They may take a few hundred years to degrade. Sometimes the chemicals contained in the components can leak into the soil and contaminate the water supply.
There is a much better way to dispose of old electronics, and it’s actually quite beneficial to all involved. You can actually go to many iPod for cash sites, or iPhone for cash, or whatever gadget for cash, and trade your iPod in to get some cash back. It works even if your iPod or cell phone is somehow damaged— a cracked screen or case for instance won’t make much of a difference. Of course, those items that are in better shape will fetch a better price, but even those that are damaged can be salvaged for parts.
The secondhand electronics market, these sell iPod for cash sites, is thriving. And it’s so simple a concept. Most sites require that you fill out a form; after it’s filled out, they’ll send you a quote, and you can easily sell your iPod for cash. Shipping is usually free as well.
Selling your iPod for cash is not only good for your wallet and good for the environment, it’s also good for the economy. Sell your iPod for cash today.
People are getting more and more concerned with the environment. One of the best ways to do your part is by selling your old iPhone. You’ll get top dollar at http://www.CashforiPhones.com and you can enjoy knowing you’re helping to save the Earth.

5 tips for Selling Your iPod on eBay or Craigslist July 11, 2010 No Comments
Was it the iPhone 4 or the iPad that really got you? For me it was the iPad – I already have a 3gs iPhone and the idea of video conferencing is really interesting but I don’t trust AT&T’s network to pull it off and I’m never around free WiFI connections to really make use of the new face time features.
Anyway – let’s face it. These gadgets are busting the bank for most of us. I’d love to have the latest iPad or iPhone but in times such as these shiny gadgets like the iPhone 4 & iPad are not so easy to buy anymore.
I’ve found one of the most effective strategies for earning some extra cash on the side is to simply sell your iPod (or iPhone) on a good site like eBay or Craigslist.
There’s competition for selling this stuff but they almost always sell IMO. The key is to write a clever ad that really conveys a sense of trust to your potential buyer so you can get the most for your old Apple gadget. After all – if they trust your ad and know they’re going to get a good working 2nd hand product they are willing to give you more money so you can fund your Apple Addiction.
Here are 5 proven tips for earning trust in an eBay auction or Craigslist advertisement:
1. Use high quality pictures. If people can see your iPod or iWhatever from many different angles they’ll know for sure what kind of quality it is in. Don’t be afraid to use high resolution pictures – I’ve actually found the better the pictures the more bidding I get!
2. Film a short video and post it to YouTube. In addition to high quality pictures a video posted to YouTube also helps. What’s really funny about this is that I usually get comments on my videos from people on YouTube asking me how much for the gadget!
3. FULL DISCLOSURE! If something is wrong then disclose it. People are willing to buy a broken or damaged product as long as they know what they are getting into.
4. Start the bidding at $0. If you’re going the eBay route over Craigslist you’ll want to start the bidding off super low. This creates a lot of interest and people will automatically start tracking your auction and feel tempted to start bidding on it.
5. Give a ‘Buy It Now Price’. If you know exactly what price you want then go ahead and list it!
5 Tips for Buying a New iPhone Cheaply No Comments
So the iPhone 4 is out – to be honest I’m not that impressed. It just didn’t do much for me. I don’t see the point to it – the video conferencing is REALLY cool but I can’t see myself in a situation where I can actually use it.
How often am I going to be around Wi Fi and away from my family?
Anyway – if you are interested in upgrading and want to do it on the cheap here are some tips:
1. Sell Your iPod & iPhone on eBay. This is the oldie but goldy – eBay users are hooked on 2nd hand iPods & iPhones. Definitely pretty it up, take some good quality pics and get it listed right now. Your upgrade costs might well be covered by this.
2. Consider a trade in program. Gazelle.com has a nice buy back plan for your old gadgets.
3. Cut the grass. That’s right – just go house to house and cut the grass for people. Charge $20 a lawn and after 10 lawns you can buy it.
4. Pack lunch to work for the next month & make your own coffee instead of drinking Starbucks.
5. Sell cat food on Craigslist.
Alright – these tips were all awful. WTF am I thinking?
Good luck you knuckleheads.

Unlock Your iPhone Before Selling It March 9, 2010 No Comments
First of all – most people find it hard to believe that you can actually get more than what you paid for your iPhone (this doesn’t apply to your iPod touch), but it’s true. There is a huge market for jailbreaked & unlocked iPhones.
I recently sold my iPhone for $400 (and I paid only $ 199 with a 2 year contract a year ago). If you look at the listings on eBay, you’ll see that this isn’t atypical. People hate contracts and being tied to early termination fees.
So if you decide to sell your iPod or iPhone here are 5 things you must do before selling:
1) Take lots of photos of your iPhone or iPod touch. Make sure the surroundings are well lit and that people can see things clearly.
2) Customers like to see the original packaging. They feel that you’re a thoughtful and considerate owner so definitely include this in your pictures if you still have it.
3) If you have access to a video camera and video tape you iPhone and making a phone call. You can publish this free video on youtube and a link to it in your ad.
4) List your bid on a Thursday, and make sure it ends Sunday evening. I found these are the best times to sell.
5) List price begins at $ 0. The iPhone & iPod touch always sell on eBay. Let the market do it’s magic – people will start following your bid because they see the list price at $.0.
Of course doing a jailbreak & unlock on your iPod/iPhone will do wonders for resell values. Check out the video below.
