iPod Trade In, Recyling, Repair – What I Do For A Living
Hi,
My name is Vikhas Khare. I’m a college student who recently had a brilliant (but somewhat boring) idea on how to make some money on the side. I was reading an industry report on Apple and perusing eBay and seeing how much used Apple products go far.
Not only do they fetch a pretty penny on eBay – they also have a high resale value on Apple’s refurb page on the Apple Store (http://store.apple.com/us – bottom left, look at the ‘Deals’ widget).
I decided that I would arbitrage my way to riches. Well, it doesn’t make me a million dollars or anything like that but it is an easy way to make some beer and spending money while I finish up college.
Here is my basic strategy:
-> I buy a broken iPod Touch -> I repair the screen -> I list it on eBay or Craigslist -> I collect money
Sometimes it’s like this:
-> I buy a used iPod Classic -> I offer to pick it up (this makes people sell it for cheap since it’s convenient) -> I shine it up all nice and pretty -> I list on eBay -> I collect money
That’s basically what I do. So my blog will be updated from time to time with stuff on how to care, repair and keep your iPod lookin’ purty.
